Hey,

I'm always on the lookout for a decent, inexpensive classical and came across a used Kenny Hill Madrid model, made in Mexico, I believe.

Any thoughts on this model?

Any idea what a good used price might be?

Thanks!

Hey, I meant to tell you--Coyles' has some interesting nylons (Cordoba brand?). They seem fairly solid, and under $500 to boot. I think the halfdepth one I particularly liked was $349 or so.

Hill guitars are usually pretty good. He moved the shop in Mexico to China a few years ago. And he maintains an excellent small shop in Ben Lomond, CA.

I have a Mexican Kenny Hill La Curva that I paid I think about $950 on eBay. It was shipped as mint and arrived with a cracked back. Thank you USPS.

Nice guitar though. Kenny's a great guy also.

Jim - those are known for being a really great 'bang for the buck' instrument without being 'cheap'

I had one of the Paracho built guitars and liked it a lot. It was loud, played well, and had a pretty good sound. The finishing work wasn't great and there were some other flaws, but on the whole it was a nice instrument.

I have a Fingerstyle which is a Chinese made guitar aimed at steel string players. I love it. They make great guitars at the price point.

I would think that any price under $1000 would be a good one. New it goes about $2K I think.
