As the title of my thread says, I turned my guitar upside down with no strings on and the saddle fell out. On my saddle, one end has a flat area, while the other end is rounded. Can anybody tell me which end, flat or rounded, goes to the bass side or treble side? I've never really paid attention to this, as it has never happened before. I sure wish I would have now. The flat side is not as tall which tells me that it should go to the treble side of the neck, but I'm not too sure.
Thanks for the help everybody.

That *should* be correct. But alas, most saddles are cut different depending on maker(s). I'd also look at the curvature of the top of the saddle for another *hint*.
Worst case scenario.....you have to flip it.

that happens on my Gibson and its a bone saddle that doesn't show any indentation or wear marks so I used a magnifying glass and sure enough the low E side was visible

I'd suggest making a small mark with a permanent marker on the bottom of the saddle on either the treble or bass side to prevent future confusion. Then you just have to remember which side you put the mark on. :AOK
