Nut sauce does work wonders. I use it everytime I change my strings.

I always use nut sauce when changing strings. It has help me with sticky strings. Also make sure you have quality tuners, sometimes you can get a bad one that will not hold tight all the time.

I prefer to powder my nuts as opposed to sauce. Keeps the G string from getting pinched. That would be powdered graphite. I've heard that Gold Bond medicated powder works well for tough cases.
