I recently picked up a Tweed Princeton replica and find it just a little "small" sound-wise - as a matter of fact it does not even compare to my 5F1 home-made head (which has a bright cap) - the 5F1 has got a depth and fullness missing in the 5F2A - is this simply a matter of bypassing the stone stack in thd 5F2A? or is there some other simple fix - otherwise I may just sell the thing -

Try a speaker and tube change before you pitch it.

When you put in the extra pot you put it in parallel with your volume pot so, you now have 500k ohm volume pot. Which reduces the gain and bass/fullness

If you want to experiment try and put a 0.047uF cap inplace of the first 0.022uf and see if you prefer it (or double up the 0.022uF in parallel for 0.044uF).

Also the tone control will be letting more highs through if you dont have the volume knob max which can make it sound thinner

I have a couple of them. One is a Weber kit and the other is one I put together from parts. They both sound great. The Weber kit 5F2A really sounds great witht he right speaker and tubes. The speaker I'm using in it now is an Emi Ragin Cajun with a tung-sol 6V6 power tube.

I've seen a lot of clones that use undersized OTs. Do you have a good OT in your unit? Allen sells a Heyboer-made 10W OT for around $35 that sounds amazing.

If your amp is sounding "small" sound-wise, try swapping out the 5Y3 rectifier tube for a 5V4 tube. You'll add some fullness and volume with the 5V4 swap.

You also might re-check your speaker wiring. You might have the leads reversed / positive wire lead to negative speaker lug and negative wire lead to positive speaker lug.

If it is wired backwards, this would certainly affect the depth and fullness of your amp.
