Hey guys I need help...again. :D

I just can't get used to the feel of my Taylor DN4, to the point where I don't even want to play it. So I'm selling it and am going to buy something else. I'd like to spend about $700-$800 on the new guitar. I was thinking of a Blueridge BR-163, cause it has a smaller neck and I like the smaller 000 style body. Are there any other brands or guitars in my price range that would be good? I'd like a solid wood guitar with a thinner neck, preferably 1 11/16", and smaller body.

Thanks!

i literally played 50 high end acoustics this week before i bought my Morgan. here are some impressions, for an american made guitar slightly higher priced then 800 bucks the clear winner for me was a Guild DV6. I also liked a Korean built guitar called a Tanglewood, it was 800 bucks with electronics. If i were you i would buy a used Guild, the quality to price ratio is amazing.

Take a look at the Canadian made brands like Art & Lutherie, Seagull, Norman, or Godin. They really well made, and are pretty easy on the wallet.
Check it here.

Hmm...I'll look into those more. I kind of wanted something with a smaller body though, like an 000 style body. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Seek out an Epiphone Blues Master. They are no longer in production but it is not that hard to find a slightly used or NOS one. Prices are going up but I think they would still be in your price range,

there are some fine old guitars at Buffalo Bros but the thing about them applies to just about any acoustic...very concerned about buying one without playing it first. I got an old Alvarez in 1983 and it is a warhorse...but now that I have been playing for awhile I sortof have an idea of where I want to spend my money...I like 3K+ Martins and Collings. getting that sound and playability for under a grand? que impossible!

I think I am going with the Blueridge BR-163. There is something I really like about it, and all solid woods! I just have to sell my guitar first...

The Seagulls and LaPatrie by Godin are excellent and in that price range. Great necks and tops, made in Canada.

I would check out a Martin 00-15 or 000-15 if you haven't yet.
It might not be your thing, but if it is, it's a fantastic guitar for the money.

Good luck in your search - jv

Blueridge is a great choice. I bought one 15 years ago. I played it, beat it, dropped it, dinged it, scuffed it, gauged it, and then bought a Martin to replace it. Then my daughter got old enough to play so I gave it to her.

She dropped the Blueridge and broke the neck! (in 3 pieces)
I figured it wasn't worth having it fixed professionally, so I glued it back together myself with epoxy. The neck creaked at first, but after a few months, I gotta say, it almost sounds better now than it ever did.

I love that Blueridge guitar. I see the ones they sell now, and they've come a long way in their craftsmanship. Back then they just slammed in the inlays, but today they seem to actually take some time on it.

Great choice! You'll love your Blueridge.

Epiphone Masterbuilt with a K&K Western Mini!? I liked mine, but I just don't play it enough to keep it around. Its for sale, cheap in the emporium.
