Yes it's quite an honor to open for one of the true blues icons and an even bigger one to be asked to to do it - hope I don't screw it up! This will be the 5th time. The first time was back when Lucky was around and he called Bobby and told him about Skipper's Smokehouse and we opened and provided sound and some backline stuff too. Since this is the Gear Page I'll digress a bit and mention that on that gig Wayne Bennett used my BF Super Reverb but he really wanted a Twin. The 2nd time was at the Mahaffee Theater here in St. Petey with Lucky's dad James sitting in with us and a sound company out of Miami. The 3rd time was at the old downstairs Blues Ship in Ybor and we were the backline and PA providers for a packed house. The 4th time was at the Centro Asturiano in Tampa and we were the PA and backline providers again. Shawn Brown also played and a young sax player named Eric Darius played solo to CD tracks! So this will be the 5th time - he probably thinks I'm stalking him! More Gear Page drivel - we might be the PA and backline providers for this one too and if so I'll have to break out the BF Twin and BF Super Reverb for whoever is on geetar!

Since you have been around him a few times could you tell me why he makes that "Ack" sound on some of his recordings? Is he sick or is that just part of his thing?

Not sure when that started - it wasn't on his early recordings. Lucky once told me that back when he was part of his band they played a gig in Texas and Bobby was sick and couldn't make that sound so some of the women folks who apparently liked it were complaining and saying he was an impostor!!! As you may have noticed - it has become one of his signatures. Live - it is very pronounced.

Somehow unless you trip and fall off the stage I see no possibility of that!
Good to see you around!
