This is a great demo of the Pure 64 Mean Street Classic. I am proud to say that after a long search I chose this amp. I have not yet had a chance to record a new song with it, but I should have a new song in about a month or so and will ofcourse post it. I talked to Mark the owner and builder of Pure 64 Amps about micing techniques that work well with the rig (Customer Service to the max) to save some time for me in the studio :D. Mark was very helpful and sent me a demo that show cased some of what we had discussed. It was so good I got permission from him to share it here with everyone. The guitarist is not me, it is Bobby Moses Nichols and did a good job in getting the sound of this amp in a studio. This is a great amp built by someone that goes the extra mile to make sure that it is right!

Hi Chris,
When you first emailed me asking for advice on an amp and I suggested the Pure Sixty Four, I was a little worried about it. You're pretty picky. :) I did have faith in Mark and in the product I was recommending. I just crossed my fingers. I'm glad you're so happy with the amp.

So many others love their Pure Sixty-Four as much as I love mine. Mark has really helped me find MY tone. For that, I am eternally grateful. The only question now is... what one do I get next? I played Joe Perry's 100w Mean Street and it was killer. That's certainly on the list. :D

I am a bit picky about gear ;) I take my tone seriously. Thanks for turning me onto Mark and P64, the best amp I have ever played through. I can't wait to post my clip so everyone can hear the difference it made in my tone. But I have my eye on another P64 amp. Yeah Mark makes a D style amp that has been quietly being developed. If anyone ever has the opportunity to talk to Mark about his philosophy with amp building, it is obvious that you are talking to a passionate artist that takes it real serious. That would explain this amp!:AOK

Here is the info I have on the clip. DePergo Avc > Pro
Analog SupaQuack Wah > Zeek Overdrive > Mad Proffesor Sbod > Mean
Street 20 watt Classic > Pure 64 1x12 Cabinet Silver Series Speaker.
The tune is called Rappa Nui. Yeah this guy can straight up play, and that is some serious tone. If you notice this guy takes his gear seriously. And yep he is playing D'pergo through a Pure 64 Mean Street Classic. That is some serious tone!

Hey guys, Bobby Moses Nichols here, glad you enjoyed the clip! it's from an upcoming CD that should be at the mixing/mastering stage next month. The Mean Street entered my life back in May, so I was able to record with it on the four remaining tunes I had left to work on. I wish I had it sooner----it's one of ten amps I used, and it hands down was the best recorded sound of the bunch. It is a MONSTER in the studio. I loved the live vibe it had when I bought it, but was very pleasantly surprised when the recording light was on. As stated by many who have talked to Mark------special builder, special amp. The clean tone breathes in a sweet, organic manner, coaxing a player to play better. I use pedals to dial in some grind, but it has nice mojo when pushed without pedals also.
FYI, the band name is Jumolhari. The rhythm section is comprised of Les Falconer (from Keb' Mo band) on drums and Tony Pattler (Chaka Khan, Rufus, George Michael, Kal David) on bass and organ. I'll definitely post some of the finished tracks when it's done!
Kudos to Mr. Jimetti and Pure 64 amps.

Are there any sound clips of anyone really tearing it up on a Pure Sixty-Four amp. All the clips I have heard are just polite. Is this just a sweet jazzy amp or what?
I still wanna hear some serious Rock and Blues and some twang ! Some body hurt me with one of these . Please !!

myspace.com/davemileyband = clips of a Matchless with just pedals.

I don't play "polite". :) Plenty of dirty clip in the live section of my site, but I'm playing the MS, not the MSC.

You can definitely get a very sweet, thick, jazzy tone by using the EQ curve switch and keeping the volume at 9'oclock (plenty loud) or below. And It does have enough clean headroom to hang with the drummer (I have the 50W). You could definitely play clean, sweet toned country on this thing all night if you want. Other than that, the amp is a monster. With the Mean switch on and the volume on Noon to 3 O'clock, curve up about 4-6, it's raging. Huge stuff. Touch sensitive to the max with miles of depth of response. Blooming harmonic juiciness but not at the expense of quick response or focus. Goose it with a little OD and blast off for good. Refined but NOT polite at that point. It's fluffy and full, not grainy and gritty. Full of color, not dark and woofy. It's classic feeling but not vintage. Modern and very clear, but not sterile in the least. It makes sense that Mark was into building race cars, this amp seems like a Ferrari (not that I would really know about that).

Sorry, I can't make you a clip, and I've run out of cork sniffing adjectives. You will have to experience it for yourself.

I lost the clip while posting my own demo clip, my bad. I then went to get it from my computer and realized I had purchased a new computer. It is on the Pure 64 web site however. Here is a clip that is not at all polite. The lead was my P64 MSC
