Van rentals

I am not sure if this is the right thread but I couldn't find anything closer.

I have a band from the UK coming over in October to the SE. The idea for a vehicle fell through and now we need to rent a minivan.

The cheapest I have found is roughly $850. Does anyone have any ideas to get one cheaper.

By the way, the band is called the GST Cardinals (www.myspace.com/gstcardinals). Please check them out. We are hitting Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Houston, Jackson, MS and hopefully many more.

$850 for how long? you don't say and that is kind of critical.

Rental prices are way up.

I did some research into this for my last tour, which lasted 26 days. I found it was much cheaper to buy a used van, sink an little maintainance money in it, and then sell it after the tour. You may want to consider this route. Funny enough, we got such a good deal that we kept the van and considering our gigging schedule over the last 6 months in term of time and location (some short out of town runs) it has more than paid for itself.
