I recently got an amp based on the Hoffman H-50 circuit. I can't seem to find much about the circuit on Hoffman's website. Does anyone know anything about the H-50? I believe it is Marshall based, but that is about it.
Any information would be appreciated!

Bump.
Is it the metal cased, flip top amp that Doug built in the 90's?

It is a combo built by an amp builder called Submarine Sounds. It is an H-50 Plus. Single channel, with boost function. Full tone controls, deep switch, "meat" control, loop, master. Looks like a Fender combo was converted for this. It runs on EL34s or KT-77s. I have not e-mailed Doug about it yet. I figure it was built from one of his kits or his schematics. I see he does not have kits any longer. From what I could glean from his site, which is not easy to navigate, the H-50 was Plexi based. I was told this was JCM800 based, but it does not sound like an 800 to me. It does have a great deal of gain on tap though...but it is darker and smoother than an 800.

Yep, that looks like the same circuit. So, does anyone know if this is Marshall based?

It is marshall based.
Doug Hoffman is a good guy, and I would recommend emailing him with your questions on the circuit.
Hot switch for a gain boost, and a tube buffered effects loop, are two of the cool features.
