I haven't really thought about owning or playing a Stratocaster. I usually play Gibson hollowbodies and Harmony Stratotones. But I held this guitar in my hands for a little while a few nights ago. And if I had a desire to get a Stratocaster I would probably get this one. It has a particularly nice feeling V shaped neck. I also got to hear Rick Hogue play it. It sounds good too. This guitar was made at Garrett Park Guitars in Annapolis, Maryland. I'm tempted to do some Buy It Nows on eBay so I can gather up enough scrilla to go get it.

You guys crazee? That looks terrible. I love nice lookin' relics but that just looks trashed. Looks someone changed their oil before playing some down home cowboy chords, and had Popeye sandpaper forearms. And what's with the extra long wang bar?

I have to admit, it does nothing for me and I like relics as well as that color.

It oozes something alright. Needs some penicillin.

You know what? I like relics and have one but guitars like this are becoming so prevalent that they're the first thing people think of when a relic is mentioned. They really turn me off. That is so far from realism it's comical. No, it's stupid.
Relics are like Happy Meals. If a regular is good, let's add another patty and triple the fries. Pretty soon when you're done with it, you want to puke.
That thing looks like it was rescued a little too late from a flooded basement.
I'm sure someone will find a genuine 50's or 60's guitar with similar wear and post it. I really don't care. Of the many pics I've seen of vintage guitars wear like that is the exception, not the norm.
If you want a relic, buy one. As I said, I think they're nice, however, crap like that is so far from nice it's absurd.

But if it feels right, and sounds amazing, then it is the one.

Thank you Mr. M. I was prepared for an onslaught of invective from the relic loyalists.
I guess you should be prepared to share my company.:)

I played a Rory Gallagher strat once and was Floored by the guitar. But I just couldn't bring myself to spend $2400 on a F***ed up guitar. Light Closet Relics are cool .......Nocaster Teles especially..........:drool

Ya I agree, not a very good relic.
There will come a day when those things will be as embarrassing as pink Spandex pants.
