For reference, I have a 2006 Epiphone Dot. I like the guitar in general but I'm having a bit of trouble playing the thick neck on it. But I've decided that I want to move up to a full hollowbody jazzer. Do any of you know of any that have thin necks? I'm considering one of the Ibanez Artcore models. My price range would be $500-$700.

Thin as in a narrow nut or as in the distance from the frets to the back of the neck? Or both?

I suggest trying the Epiphone Casino, The neck is much thinner and narrower than the Standard Epiphone neck, and They have the advantage of being totally badass.

Thin as in the distance from the frets to the back of the neck. Maybe something like a Fender neck?

The Casino isn't what I'm looking for. I'm interested in an ES-175 type of guitar.

Thanks for the replies.

You might want to look into 60's Guilds, the necks are slim, guitars are great.

I have an ES-175, 1967 - it has a thinner neck that is just perfect - you know, those old Gibson necks!!! I have smaller hands and love a thinner neck...
BTW, I keep going back and forth about selling it; I just do not play it enough and feel it's an amazing instrument that deserves to played!

lots of options out there... I'd wager late 80's / early 90's Gibson ES-175's
might work for you. I have a 1991 ES-175 with a super thin neck.

Also just acquired a 1999 Gibson ES-5 that has a thinner neck, narrow nut,
25.5" scale, but a 17" full-depth body. Incredible guitar. Might be worth
checking some of the mid-90's Epiphone's like the Zephyr Blues Deluxe.
Here's a nice one at a great price...
