anyone know what is meant by the phrase "point to point wiring principles" - been sizing up a trace elliot speedtwin which makes this claim.

HI! I'm assuming you don't know what "point-to-point is, so correct me if I'm in error. http://www.thegearpage.net/board/images/icons/icon7.gif In it's true definition, it means wiring strung from component to component (directly) with NO circuit board. It looks kind of like a spiders web when you see it. Many folks (and bogus ad execs!) confuse or misrepresent "hand-wired" circuit boards (like all the old Fenders up to the early 80's have) with true point-to-point.
So, to answer your question, it sounds as if your Trace-Elliot has a PCB or printed circuit board that is designed in such a way that some dimwit in the marketing dep't decided to use the buzz words "point-to-point". Very few, if any, major production amplifiers use true point-to-point anymore.
