I have a Boss digital studio BR-532 that I like to use to play along to drum loops with my guitar plugged into it and listening with headphones. I was wondering if I could plug the recorder into my amp and listen through the amp instead of headphones?( recorder-headphone output- into amp-guitar input-)

Yes. But if it's stereo you need a mono converter. Start with a low volume on the output from your recorder.

Can I just run a cord from the headphone input (on the recorder) to my amp? ( won't that convert itself from stereo to mono?)

Your headphone out is stereo, your amp input is mono. It will probably work, but you'll probably lose some of the signal without a converter. Depends on how the loops are mixed. Doesn't hurt to try it.
