1-Converge : First Light
2-Phoenix Bodies: Raise the Bullshit Flag
3-Stiff Little Fingers: Alternative Ulster
4-Billy Bragg: To Have and Have Not
5-Mercury Radio Theater: The Blue Eyed Model
what do you think are the COOLEST recorded guitar tones ? My all time favorite is Converge- First Light.

Billy Bragg? Now there's a sleeper if ever I heard one. Good (and unusual) choice. I like John Lee Hooker's gnarly tone too. And Marc Ribot's sound on Rain Dogs is great too (doesn't Keef play on that album too?). Definitely not Robben Ford :D
solo tone on "maggie mae" sorry..... sure I got the title wrong.... love it!

Glad someone else recognizes this. Hard to go wrong with cranked up old Fender amps - :)
Also, just about anything David Gilmour has ever done, but some of my favorite tones from him are from Animals and his first solo record.
