I never had an analog delay pedal before, but I sold my DD3's and bought a Subdecay Echobox. I think the modulation is neat, but I would only use it at the end or beginning of a song, for effect. Maybe it's that I'm not used to it, but for higher gain lead playing, I much prefer the clarity of the digital delay sound. Not sure if I'm a fan of the repeats getting progressively darker. Does anybody else feel this way? Seems like everybody is all about the analog sound these days...

I think since now, for the most part, a lot of everything is all digitized, clear and perfect, some just like to hear good ol warm analog sounds. Its all preference really. Personally I like each for different reasons. Digital mainly for longer repeats. Analog for its pure warmth and organic sound

They are two different things and both have their place. That's like asking what you like better, steak or lobster???
Umm, I'll take them both thank you.....

Analog is for sound NOT repeats.
If you use your delay for repeating your notes the answer might be digital over analog. I like tape echoes, analog delays and digital delays but not for the fact that they repeats what I play.
IF I had to choose 1 my pick would have been a digital delay with tap tempo as it has a greater span of usage. But luckily I don't have to make that choice :)

I like the delay for the sole purpose of giving me a 'reverb-like' ambience, but that ambience is considerably darker with analog delay I'm finding.

+1, different tools for different jobs.
That said, my personal pref is for digital. It seems to play nicer when combined with chorus or flanger.

+1 for two different beasts. I use both and couldn't get by without each.

I like my Nova Delay. Gets close enough to an analog and tape simulation for everything but serious studio work.

For reverb like ambience I am actually not sure what I prefer. But I trust your ears in this matter. I see three different uses for three different ways of generating repeats.
For reverb I of some stupid reason can't get away from my PCM-60.. it just sound so nice in my ears.

I do the digital delay myself. Mainly because, I want just that. A delay or echo exactly like what I just played. I do a lot of dotted eight delays though. Doubling, Tap Tempo, that kind of stuff. So, in short, I like a digital delay.

I wouldn't say I prefer either, I would say I use digital more. The tap tempo is invaluable to me in the majority of delay uses.

I use delay to make repeats of my sound, so I prefer digital. I don't like it to color the sound. If it's an analog delay it has to be really clear, not muddy at all. I think that's why I like the Vintage Delay on the Timefactor. It's a bit warmer than a digital delay without sounding muddy.
