This is my current board....

Have a keeley way trying to trade for a RMC.

What has gotten to me a little is my drive section. My Tim is still purrrrfect. The standard drive I leave on all the time, and the boost I need when i need that kick, volume, and transparent crunch.

I've had my an Eternity for a while, with my previous being the roadhouse. That said, I'm not finding enough different between the Eternity and the Tim's boost. I can definitely hear it when I A/B em, but in a band setting, there's not too much difference, pardon my ignorance.

I'm loving the boost of the Tim cause it gives my strat that kick but keeps that strat tone intact, very Mayer-esque tones. It's still crunchy, but has enough kick for rhythm or lead tones.

What I'm really wanting for my eternity or another drive pedal is a really thick sounding drive. I'm not needing it to be fully heavy on distortion, but something thick and possibly even middy. The eternity is getting there but in a full band setting, it just doesn't seem to be different enough. I'm possibly even looking at mayer tones again, when he hits those really big fat notes.

THe Keeley Fuzz Head is very midrange-y. It is kinda like a fuzz>overdrive combo, I don't think it ever gets too wooly like some fuzzes.

Go to YouTube and check out the Big Muff. That might be what your looking for. You might also want to check out a compressor. :)

Had the fuzz head, wasn't my thing... I've had a few 'muffs', i had a skreddy, and a fuzz factory, and a fuzz head, and have a mouse currently. HAd a tweak fuzz too.. I guess fuzz just isn't my thing right now.. I'm pretty sure I'm after an overdrive of sorts though..

I have a white '04 Eternity and I love the hell out of it. I'm not familiar with a Tim/my so I can't help you there. What I love about my E is that it is very thick in the mids and not super gainy. You may want to try a Zendrive. Does a lot of what my E does but more tweakable. In my experience, the E sounds best with a buffer right after it (I use a TU2 even though it's before other drives). I also think the E sounds best when the amp already wants to break up and becuase mine has so much headroom, I turn the volume up to push the front end of the amp, set the tone to taste and dial the gain to where it sounds best. I found that the volume knob is where the magic in this pedal lives.

Another thick pedal (besides the aformentioned Zendrive) is the Barber Direct Drive (it has a lot of gain though). I know he's made lower gain versions and maybe the LTD is voiced similarly.

Good luck, the E is my desert island pedal.

How is that Visual Sound volume pedal? I haven't had a chance to try one out yet...

Have you checked out the Wampler Pedals? Pinnacle/Plextortion perhaps?

I've had the zendrive before. There was a time when I had the zendrive and the E as my two main drives. then i gave up the zendrive. I think i regret it, cause that was probably what I wanted more out of the two. How does the Barber DD sit in relation to all of this.. How about the JGS pedals sit too?

Okay, I may put myself on the list of the Zendrive or a Mosferatu.. BUT I DUNNO WHICH ONE.

I have owned the zendrive and sold it just cause I liked the Eternity back then for transparency. But now im not looking for a 'transparent' drive. I have my Tim to take care of that. So that leaves me stuck, I still want a fairly med-high gain drive pedal.

I'm still wanting to hit mayer in terms of med-high gain lead tones.. Would the zendrive or the mosferatu be better for me?

I've had a few Zendrives and a Mosferatu. I love the Mosferatu. Tons of overtones and harmonically rich. Classic rock in a box.

I've been listening to some Jetter clips. I really like the sound... That said, the Red has been compared to the E, which I'm not realllly wanting..

What about the blue? I understand it's got that fuzz face mixed into it, but I'm really intrigued

Have you tried a straight up tubescreamer recently? I just got mine back from Analogman and I think it's fantastic, but then again I've always loved the TS thing. Seems like it would compliment the Tim nicely and fits your middy and not too distorted request.
