You can bet that whatever they come up with will be smokin'... They'll be coming out of the chute "with their jocks cinched up and their hair on fire..." There are ZERO featherweights in that lineup.

I for one think it will be a cool project.
All the players aint riding the crazy train and are solid working musos.
And for those who want to dis Sammy you only wish you had his track record and longevity. Get beyond the VH drama.

This could be very interesting. Chad Smith is one of the most underrated drummers around in my opinion. He's an absolute powerhouse!

Satriani should of got a band together years ago. I think he needs to work with a vocalist real bad.

Wrong, but thanks for playing. :D

HSAS II? 'Cept only the the 'H' is the same?

I actually kinda liked the one HSAS live recording I had (on cassette way back when).

Yeah, but out of all the instrumental guitar guys, I think he needs a vocalist the least because he writes the best guitar instrumentals. His tunes are so musical. I hope this band kicks some ass. Seems like it will be about music and not drama, drugs etc... Which is refreshing.

Just tell Sammy to refrain from using "Baby" in any lyrics.

I'd be happy if it was as good as Montrose.

it will be nice to hear JS in a "regular" rock band context
however i sometimes get tired of the endless references to SH's cabo wabo crap and buy my tequila etc.
reminds me of joe perry hawking his frigging bbq sauce

Super groups have about a 50% success ratio. Choosing Chad Smith will be a mistake in the end due to his loyalties to the Chilli Peppers, eventually he will have to go back to them when called, the other guys have ability to float around as they desire.

I'm really excited to hear the end result. I think Haggar and Satch will be a good pairing as I think Satch has always had a little pop in his rock songwriting and Haggar has a little rock in his pop songwriting.

However, you never know with these things. A quick soprts analogy, I'm reminded of the Rockets Dream Team in the 90's w/ Barkley,Drexler, and Olajuwon which I was so excited about which resulted in zilch...

...i have to agree, he has limited range, melodic imagination etc. the michael bolton of heavy rock?

I just hope they don't go too poppy, just to make some cash. I recall being fairly uninterested in Mr. Big....except for a couple of tunes. Same with Damn Yankees, & Asia. But, I certainly can't begrudge musicians for wanting to make money. They just won't get much, or any of mine, unless it rocks! Fingers crossed...

Oh, and if Chad Smith doesn't work out, they could probably get Steve Smith, and not have to change much of their logos, and whatnot.

I, for one, wish them the best.
