Shipping to dealer: Who pays freight?

Hey amp builders,

When shipping product to a dealer, do you charge them freight?

How about if you ship a unit to a buyer on a direct purchase?

Yes, we charge the purchaser shipping charges.

The only exception is warranty repair service, for which we cover shipping both ways (if it cannot be repaired locally, at our cost).

It depends on how you want to do the accounting.

If you don't charge the dealer, then it becomes part of the expense of running your company.

If you do charge your dealers freight, then it's reported as part of your income.

Something like that... check with your CPA. If you don't have a CPA, you need to get one... mine saved me a ton in taxes!

Yes. We charge dealers and direct customers for shipping.
