Happy Birthday to one of the pioneers-you left way to soon but thanks for the music and memories.

Sorry, not trying to be an a-hole and certainly no offense intended but it's giving me a migrane.

It's "would have"

It's OK, I think John would have been a stickler for proper grammar.

What an inspiration! Imagine, Instant Karma, and Across the Universe are some of the most wonderful songs ever crafted, IMO.

Yep, I miss him too. One of my favorite song writers / singers / people.

My band is working up our version of "Just Give Me Some Truth". His music is still relevant.

RIP John.

I didn't find out til I was inbound to the airport for an 0600 departure the next morning. I wanted to turn around, go back home and cry. It was such a loss to the music world. I hope John finally found the peace he wanted.

I don't think he found it. For one thing, the world he "Imagined" is still very far to the actual world, if not further today than it was by 1971. Hence, if there was a Heaven and not just "only sky" and he was watching the world from above or from anyother direction he might be really dissapointed and, remembering how emotional and outspoken he was when asked to speak politically, he might also be really pissed. OTOH if there is no Heaven as he suggested to imagine, he is not really resting or listening to our good wishes. As John Cleese used to say "He is no more. He has ceased to be!".
If we respect what his beliefs were then he is not resting, which makes his murdering even more terrible.

Regards

A huge loss, but his life is omniprescent. Also, John "The Ox" Entwistle would have been 64 today.

I guess I'm the only person on the face of the planet who doesn't like Imagine. I just think he wrote SO MANY better songs. In fact, my favorite song of all time is "In My Life". It's credited to he and Paul but John wrote it. Not only that...he was a LOT better guitar player than people have given him credit for. Play the riff to "I Feel Fine" and sing the lead vocals. Try it.

The man was a genius!!
