I just received payment for an item I had on the Emporium and there's no shipping address? I PM and email the buyer and get no response? What's the next step? I may be getting paranoid but is it some type of scam?

Thanks

That's very odd. So I guess he's not a verified member, correct?

The email I received from paypal says he's a verified buyer, but there's no shipping address so the seller protection is not available?

The buyer probably just forgot to check the address in Paypal. I'm sure the buyer will respond to your emails/pm once he/she receives them.

Ok, if he's verified, I think that means the protection is fine. Might want to double check with PayPal first though just to be sure...doesn't hurt to call and ask.

I think you need a confirmed address for the protection dont you?? And your required to ship to that address.

I thought "verified" had more to do with the seller. Isn't it a confirmed shipping address you are looking for?

Paypal states there is no seller protection unless there is a shipping address included in the payment.

Then refund the money and ask him to send it again with the address. If he doesn't comply, you have your answer.

I called paypal and found the problem. The buyer selected service instead of goods so no address was provided. No seller protection either since paypal saw no tangible goods. Paypal phoned the buyer and informed him to send me an address. Not all bad I guess.

Good news. For all the complaints about Paypal, they are a good business - just have a few strange rules.

This is correct.

This is the correct course of action here. You will be screwed if your buyer does any shenanigans without a confirmed paypal address (which as stated above, is separate from the verified member part.)

VERY important.

Since paypal has phoned him and inormed him to send an address, don't you think everything's good? There has to be a record of that call and issue.
Still, if there's no conatact by tomorrow I'm telling them to issue a refund. Can you f*****g believe it. I, the seller having problems sending the buyer what he paid for. It's a scammer's dream come true.

I dunno, is there? You usually have to ask for a reference number of the conversation when you need proof of something a support team has told you. Otherwise, how can you verify it?

Yeah, don't bend over backwards to help this guy. Do it the right way or don't do it at all...in the end, it's almost never worth the risk.

suproman,

You're right, I just refunded his money. I'll sell to one of the other buyers who wanted it.

Thanks,

Alain

Ive never had that happen before but I think what I would do is,, if you actually received the funds in your account, just hold the item and when they dont receive it I would think they would be contacting you.
Or like you said,, just refund the money and sell it to another member who knows what they are doing.
