This was an advanced hill, a guy with another group flipped on this very hill and had to be life flighted out. We stayed off those the next day.

There were 100's of Boston ferns all over the place but this one was the biggest any of us had ever seen, the fronds were at least 4 foot long. My wife stood by it so you can see just how stinking big it was.

The Mena area is beautiful.

My grandfather (RIP) was born there before moving to OK.

How were the fall colors? I'll bet in a couple of weeks it'll look amazing.

The colors were just getting off to a good start, we were all very happy with the trip/scenery/food, man the food in Mena was excellent. Our cabins were very nice too.

We talked to his family and they said he was going to be ok. He hadn't went out for a long time and his kids insisted he wear a helmet. He griped about it and almost took it off several times but had it on when he flipped. It had two eight inch gouges in it, probably saved his life.

Very nice Ed. I've done some motorcycle camping trips down there. Beautiful this time of year.

It's amazing how in a little over a week, we went from peak fall colors to at least 75% of the leaves going off the trees. Last week through last weekend was magnificent, this weekend the leaves are gone.:dunno
