it was a stellar show. much different than the montreal show i saw in 2006 (or was it '07?) w/ emmy lou providing guest vocals.

this show was rockin. daniel seemed to be channeling neil young that night. extremely nuanced, stripped back playing, but still with the massive fuzz/delay sound he's known for.

he played a good mix of songs; the highlights were duoglide, jolie-louise on the softer side, and the closing instrumental number that he said was a "lullaby", but was anything besides.

anyways, there are a few stops left on this tour, so if he's making his was through your neck of the woods, do everything in your power to get there. it was just a phenomenal show, completely devoid of pretense, but honest and soulful.

My buddy Steven Nistor is playing drums in Daniel's band; he's a great musician. Glad you liked the show.

jolie-louise -- I love that tune.

I like his approach to recording too. I like how he really thinks about the performance space. I'd love to meet him one day.

me too.

judging from his on-stage banter, he seems like a really down to earth and nice dude. a proud canadian too.
