View Full Version : ZZ Top cancels on Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit
DAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMIIITTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!! Now I have to sit through Jack Johnson, Norah Jones and Sarah McLachlan with my wife. ARRRGGGHh. Neil Young should do a full set with Crazy Horse now. Weak. I guess I'll just bring my sleeping bag and take a nap since we have lawn tix? Shouldn't be too hard falling asleep. :puh

I have nothing to say in defence of Jack Johnson, but Norah Jones and Sarah McLachlan usually have pretty good guitar players in their bands. (Adam Levy! Kevin Breit! Luke Doucet!)
Jones is actually pretty engaging in a live situation...she's a real musician, with a nice touch on the piano and a fair degree of humour. I'm no MOR fan, but I wouldn't scoff at her abilities.
But it IS a shame that ZZ Top has bailed on the Bridge...I hope the Rev, et al, are doing okay...
"Cancelled due to a scheduling conflict" means Billy realized it was a non-paying gig. I'm sure I'll still have fun. I specifically picked Saturday to see them. Oh well.

Jack Johnson is great, but Neil Young lost all of my respect last time I saw him. What a joke of an act he's become who can't play, can't sing, and waxes poetic about politics instead.

I saw Neil just last night and it was awesome. No politics, just great rock and roll. The band sounded great and it was definitely one of the better concerts I have seen. Neil definitely still has it.
