I can't tell you how excited we are to announce the new Schroeder wraparound stop tail. This is a bridge I hand drew about 2 years ago now and it is finally REAL. This bridge makes for a very loud and MUSICAL tone, with milled aluminum body, brass saddles and stainless steel screws. With the enlarged back end, it is also very comfortable. If you notice, the tail end of the bridge matches the contour of the top of the headstock.

Awesome x 1,000. I can totally identify with your process. Ours will be significantly different (not better!), but the process certainly seems similar.

Yours is a great blend of form and funtion. Well done.

Beautiful design- What's going on with that single knob?

Looks really cool!! Like a tripped-out pigtail. Can you talk a little about the tonal reasons (if any) about the choice of brass saddles as opposed to other materials?

Jas, that is just TOO COOL !!!
I like brass saddle better myself. It adds to a more of a vintage flavor to me....
As far as I'm concerned, PRS better look the hell out....new sheriff in town. All of your work I have ever seen and tried is just plain un-touchable. Beautiful work Bro.
(So, can I have it now, huh, huh, huh?)

Thanks so much guys! Really appreciate the comments! I have not decided about after market yet. It does have compatible stud spacing with most stoptails.

The guitar in the pictures is the original Chopper (which is what I call that model now) and is a "theme" guitar with chopper motorcycle appointments. If you notice it has a chopper inlaid on the fingerboard and the volume knob is actually a billet kickpeg by Arlen Ness that I chopped down and modified to work as a volume. I wanted to have a really stripped down and simple guitar so the only controls are a volume knob and a 3-way. I am just one of those players who rarely touches the tone knob unless i am checking to make sure it is all the way up! So this worked perfectly for my playing. This guitar was built a few years ago before I quit the day job and started building full time so it is one of mine that I gig with. It works like the EVH music man, if you want to roll off some high end, you take the volume back a bit.

If you are interested, here is a pic of the back of the Chopper:

And the inlay:

Jim, I am sure we can work something out!! Ha ha.

The honest answer is that brass saddles are what I know and like as far as tone! But I will likely be experimenting with different metals because it is so easy now to switch it out. Also, I use stainless steel frets and a lot of ebony boards on maple topped guitars which to me gives a crisp and well balanced tone that cuts through a live mix very well. So my ears and my gut tell me I don't need more high end with a harder saddle like stainless steel or titanium. I also tend to work through tone things like this on a guitar-by-guitar basis because literally every guitar I build is unique. I have to be flexible when it comes to components to achieve the tone a client is looking for. I may find that I want to switch up the materials on the hardware to achieve that "target tone."

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've long wondered about the tonal qualities of different metals for saddle materials and your reply has been helpful. Thanks!

The pics still don't do it justice Jason. I was visiting Jason with a friend the other day at the shop and Jason showed me the Chopper. Man it looked stunning and the bridge is just plain beautiful Jason. Now if only I can put GHOST saddles in there for my custom guitar?? ahahahaha..... Keep up the fine work Jason. Still waiting to hear from ya about the recording rig... hit me anytime dude.

VERY sweet looking axe, and tail piece! I'd be very interested in trying one of those out if you decide to produce them as an aftermarket option.

Beautiful looking bridge and guitar. Will that be offered as an after market bridge or only for your guitars?
