View Full Version : Lucky Guy - 11 yrs at the same gig.

I've played this gig for 11 years now, every Sunday at a local club. We've had some of the best players work with us over the years, we've always had fun and pretty much play for ourselves. It's not really a band, so there's no pressure, no one's trying to make a name for themselves.

The Lucky part are the musicians I get to play with. Some folks you might know,.. but here's the current line up. Starting with 82 year old Eddie Tigner on keys.

My dad, who is a great steel guitarist, has been playing in the house band at Bobby Mackeys in N. Kentucky for over 15 years!

Yes, you are lucky, Stephen. To me, that sounds like a dream gig.

I hope it lasts several more years for you.

That is great! My "band" had something similar going until the club owner pulled the plug.

Cool post = we've been at the same pub for 13 years now; unbelievable. Every Thursday and Friday are simply great parties that pick where they left off last week. :band

I'm looking forward to tonight. :drool Again.

There's a guy named spare time murray in Houston who's been playing at the Shakespeare Pub on Memorial Dr. for about 15 years now...

they're starting to call it shakespare's pub now.
