Ok. I have recenlty bought a peavey c 30 and my friend suggested running it through half power which is over driving 2 tubes. Can anyone please help me out with this I will be needing all the help i can get thanks.

FWIW... Peavey told me (when I had a C30) that it can not be done.

We've talked about this a few times, the classic 30 has series filaments so when you pull two tubes the the fiaments are gone. So, you will have to make two dummy tubes by clipping all but the filament pins. Having said that I don't think it really sounds any better and is almost as loud.

Yep you can make dummy tubes. Actually you can leave more pins than just the heater for added stability. Cant remember which ones are unused off the top of my head but there was a thread on the PV board detailing it. Never tried it when I owned mine but as you said it wont be much quieter. It might get to the "sweet spot" a tad quicker though. Bob
