I picked up an iphone 3g today, quite possibly the best invention since the tubescreamer,
anyways, as usual I was a skeptic as far as paying for the expensive accessories in the at&t store, $28 for a charger? , $20 for a rubber skin etc. Has anyone had any experience with the stuff off ebay? I found skins for $5.. and chargers for about the same, if the stuff on ebay is crap, I'll just fess up and get a real car charger and rubber skin.
Thanks :)
the guitar tuner app is great :)

Yep . Do it. I bought a multi charger, FM converter and other stuff for mine for like 30 bucks shipped. Sure the stuff is cheap, but it works. Apple has a recall on the chargers they gave you with the phone now too. I love mine and that's how I get around the charging issue. I have cheap chargers in my car, house and office. Now I want to see someone bring out a small folding keyboard and screen to plug into when traveling.

Wait a second, you can plug a keyboard into this thing??? I was going to get an iphone for the holidays this year, but now I can't wait.
Did you ever see one of those keyboards that's flat as a piece of rubber? You can fold it up and stick it in your pocket. I wonder where you can get one of those and if it'll work with the iphone.

I got the incase rubber case and it rocks. Well worth the $30. I have spent less money on ipod accessories off ebay and regretted it when I got the cheap crap delivered.

Hi, it's your neighbor (literally) from around the corner. We met at the guitar show. I've had the 3G for about a month.
Don't know about the stuff on eBay but the dollar store Five Below has skins for $5. I bought a car charger from there but it was not compatible with the 3G. I gave it to my wife for here iPod. Ended up buying one for $25 at the AT&T store.
Which tuner app did you get?
I still need to get a combo harness from you for my Tone King.
Yes, this was done from the iPhone.

Hey Joe, :) Whats goin on!
http://guitartoolkit.com/
check it out :) its great for hitting up music stores where a tuner is a rare thing to be found :)
Some of my friends had told me about $5 below, haven't been there yet let alone- where's 5 below located? heh.. My worry has been the car charger, I guess I'll end up with the AT&T one if the $5 ebay marvell I just bought doesn't work.
email me or pm me for your tone king harness, a rather large shipment of mucho cool items came in last friday :)

I'd recomend a case like this if you dont like the phone loose in your pocket. I have the original Iphone and the incase brand case like this and i clip it in my pocket with the phone facing inside my pocket and i think it works great

Don't foget to check the Apple Store... better selection and the prices are sometimes lower depending on the accessory.

I bought the cheap charger kit off ebay and it's fine. The little screen protectors from Hong Kong are first rate, too I paid $1.30 for a three pack and it took about 10 days. He even had it delivered requiring my signature. Seems like it would cost more than a buck thirty just to mail it here, but hey, who am I to interfere with world commerce?

I didn't buy a cheap skin though. Some of the cheap silicon ones seem to collect fuzz and can get sort of grimey. I bought the incase after the kid selling me the iphone showed me his and demo'd it by throwing his iphone over his shoulder onto the floor to show how well it protected it. I personally wouldn't try that but it's the best one I've seen. It's hard rubber, grips your hand extremely well and Best Buy puts them on sale for $20 occassionally.
