I always play "War of the Worlds" by Jeff Wayne, the musical version of the classic Orson Wells piece.

If anyone has NOT heard it. CHECK IT OUT!

Phil Lynott of Golden Earring, David Essex, Richard Burton, Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues, etc...

Do you have any unusual Halloween Traditions at your house?

Do you go ALL OUT on decorations? Or just do the casual trick-or-treat thing for the kids....?

Other than just doing the candy thing for the kiddies, we have an annual party we go to. I think this year 25-26 for it. We get together at one of my wife's high school friend's house, and everyone brings food and drink. Around 9pm, they lay out tarps all over the living room and dining room floors and we have a pumpkin carving contest. After you carve, you set it on the judging table and everyone votes for their top 5, then a 2nd round for top 3. First place gets a trophy to take home until nest year, then we take them all outside and blow them up with M80s. They used to have M100s, but they can't find them for sale anymore. So, around 10pm or so, there's 20 or more 50 something year olds standing out in the cold night, drunk and laughing our ass off watching the punkins go boom. Good clean fun.

My wife's b-day as well!

My annual tradition: I leave work early and trick-or-treat with my kids.

20 years from now, NOBODY will remember or care that I left work early......but I bet my kids will remember that I spent the time with them.

Well, that's my working theory, anyway......

Can't do anything but answer the door around here. We always have in excess of 500 little hob goblins ringing the damn thing off the wall. Its total aggravation from dark until around 9:30PM. I think this year I'll go to a bar and drink after work........

I think I would, too, if we got that many! We're lucky to get 20-25 here.
