I am looking forward to the new Friday the 13th. I have always liked Jason, but Hodder to me was THE guy. I know he didn't play the role in Freddy vs. Jason either. I just wonder what happened?

You can only take so many axes to the head before it starts to take it's toll.

the guy has gotta be 50+ if he was the original Jason.... i guess that would make it even scarier some old(er) dude chasing your aize and him keeping up with you.

What difference does it make when you spend most of your time behind a hockey mask?

Kane Hodder didn't take over until Friday the 13th Part 7 . The reason he wasn't asked to do Freddy V Jason was that he was so much bigger than Rober Englund they thought it would look funny. He wasn't given a reason why he was not asked to return for the remake .

The reason I've heard they didn't want him for FvsJ is they wanted someone with "sad eyes", what a load of crap!!!! Jason is a killing machine with no emotion. I thought the movie ended up being decent but could have been so much better. It didn't feel like the makers were big enough fans, there should have been ALOT more inside jokes for us geeks of both series to get that would fly over the average viewers head. I admit to being a much bigger Nightmare series fan but I've seen all the Friday the 13th movies at least twice each over the years, some more than others, I like the later ones more myself.

As for the remake, it doesn't look to me like its got anything interesting to say. While I don't agree with everything Rob Zombie did with it, at least I felt like he had interesting things to say with his version of Halloween(but it doesn't come remotly close to replacing the original which is a masterpiece in simplicity).

Then on the subject of remakes, there's the Nightmare on coming soon. I'm totally against the idea but I got some interest when I heard Billy Bob Thorton would be Freddy, its apparently not true. I don't like the idea of anyone but Robert Englund putting on the glove but I think Billy Bob could really work if there has to be a remake.
