Ok gang....
Over the past couple of years, my kid and I have thought a lot about an easy way to record without buying twenty high-end Microphones, Pre-Amps, Mixing-Boards, DAT units, etc.......
He goes to Berklee where there are a lot of MPE Majors that own all of that stuff and he has a friend that he pays 10 bucks and hour to set-up and record even when they just practice and fool around in an ensemble room in the evening.
However, there are many times that they play and simply use a cheesy Mic plugged straight into one of their Laptops.
A couple of weeks ago he bought an Olympus LS-10 hand-held recorder (as shown).
You can record different formats, even down to simple MP3's and plug it into Laptop and Drag the music into a Music Program to chop-up, etc.
Bottom line is....this thing is SOOOO present and the quality is WAY beyond ANYTHING we anticipated it to be!
Simply put it on a stool and push record.
We are STUNNED at how good the quality is....all for $400.00
While we were at NAMM, we looked at other units such as the SONY....but many were larger and won't fit in a shirt pocket.
If you took it to a concert, or simply wanted to take it to one of your own Gigs......it will produce better sounding Bootleg Concert Recordings than you could ever ask for.
Anyway....check it out...this might be a perfect TEN in gear reviews.
