Marc Ford and the Neptune Blues Society played Hermosa Beach, CA last night. His setup was a Gibson 335 / Les Paul Jr. / Stratocaster > Fulltone Clyde Wah > Analogman Sun Lion > Fender Reverb Unit > Headstrong Lil' King Reverb. As always, killer tone.

What happened to the board that was posted just last week with the custom Purple Nurple, HipKitty Cream Distorton, HBE Wah, Foxx Machine, etc? Man, he changes quickly!

The man changes his setup like the wind changes directions - but sounds badass everytime
Was this at the Boogaloo Cafe?

Yeah, Marc don't keep nothin' nailed down to his board. I kinda like that, though.

After talking with Marc a few times, it's evident the man takes tone seriously. I think it's great that he changes his setup to meet the needs of the music he's creating.
EL34...the show was at Boogaloo.

There must be something fun about having that many pedals at your disposal. Just grab a bunch hook them up, go for it, and see where it takes you.
It always sounds like Ford though, that man has the magic touch.

Speaking of the Sun Lion, does anyone know if they are going back into production any time soon? I'd like to buy one as a kind of self-xmas present, but on the site it says they are "redesigning" the pedals for production. Any word?

he had a jtm45 clone by some la amp builder when I saw him last year. I looked up the amps and they were super pricey (it wasn't roccaforte).
I'll probably remember what they were called shortly after posting this. lol I think it starts with an 's'.
wait....shreyer audio?

yeah, it inspired a friend to buy a jtm45 kit and build himself one. His tone that night...in a bar we play regularly....was beyond fantastic. I still try to talk my band into letting me turn up that loud though to no avail. :D

The Schreyer EDS-45 is not that pricey-actually reasonable for a point to point handwired amp compared to some of the others. I saw that amp on the summer 2006 Crowes tour coupled with either a Roccaforte or a tweed-Fender or Schreyer and the sound as usual was pure FORD!!

I'll second this. I have an EDS-45 and I would not consider this amp pricey at all compared to what others are charging for JTM-45 clones.
Easily one of, if not the best amp I have ever played. Its tone is huge and full of crunch. If that makes any sense. And any OD pedal makes this thing a killer --like tone on steroids.

a jtm45 clone is a jtm45 clone isn't it?
how much difference can there be in the same circuit?

I asked this awhile back and didn't hear anything. My guess is that Mike is so busy with everything else Analogman is up to that it's on the backburner indefinitely.
I will tell you this though, if it ever does happen we can look forward to endless TGP debates on how they aren't as good as the old ones no matter how small the differences in tone end up being. :D

 How could you say something like that?!? Us TGP'rs would never nit-pick! Sheesh, the nerve of some people...

I figured as much, just thought I'd throw the question out there and see if anyone knew. I really want one, but the 500 or so they're going for on ebay is just a bit much for me. Oooooh well, guess I'll just have to "settle" for the Sunface. :jo Thanks for the response though!
