I got to see , hear & meet one of my all time favorite guitar players last night
Russ Freeman and the Rippingtons
I have all his music he has recorded thru the years
I feel Russ is one of the most gifted musicians ,writers , arrangers .. etc in todays world , he also always has the best musicians backing him up
it was also nice to see and talk with Barry Eastmond who I used to run in to & talk with a few years back
Paul Taylor was the guest player on horns.....what a great show

We've seen the Rippingtons 3 times live-great shows! Kim Stone is a monster on bass! What I really dig is the obvious joy these guys seem to be having when playing on stage.

Great band and longtime fan. I've seen them a dozen times at least. Since Moonlighting. Met the band at the post show signings too a few times. My wife still has a crush on Mark Portman, keyboard guy from the early days. My daughter's HS jazz band did "Morocco" and was I a proud band dad.
The Atlantic City show of 3-4 years ago is easily the best 2 hours of music I have ever heard. Fully in a class by itself. Eric Marienthal and Kim Stone were totally on their games.

Pass the chardonnay and piont me toward the hot tub!!
It's a shame that great players had to play in this genre, and with those haircuts, in order to make a living in LA. But at least it grooves harder than Yanni.
