I just finished downloading the Mule's 10/31/08 show - all I can say is wow. A great first set followed up with a bunch of Floyd tunes. If you can you should go and download it from http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=519770 . You will then need to be able to convert the .flac files.

Cool! Thanks for the links.
Mule with the new swedish bass player and Warren with Fender Clapton Strat. Not the way we're used to see them.
Check the other videos from the same user. Warren playing a Valley Arts Tele into a PRS "Dallas" Amp.

I saw Warren and the band last night in Pittsburgh...
A bunch of my jam bands friends and I went to see Gov't Mule at a small 800 seat auditorium in Munhall, PA. They are BIG Mule fans and veterans of 10 years plus of Mule concerts - me Mule virgin :o
Very intimate hall, 800 seats tops. We had killer balcony seats near Warren. For gear...he played his "inspired by " Iced Tea Burst Les Paul half of the show, alternating to a couple of Reverse Firebirds and a 335. Amps...mostly the Diaz head into a Tone Tubby 4x12 with the Soldano, a Fender Reverb unit and Category 5 (at least it looked like it) 4x12 getting little use (it was switched off for the second set).
Warren is just a monster on the guitar, bluesy, crunching rock and spot on slide work. The highlights for me came with a nice, controlled cover of "Little Wing" and then show stopper, Van Morrison's "Ballerina" ...I think I was the only guy in the crowd to scream and "woot" on the opening chords of "Ballerina". I really love hearing Warren cover Van's material.
They had a trio of teenagers from England, Back Door Slam, as the opening act. The guitarist/vocalist had a stronger Jonny Lang type voice, very good in fact. His guitar work (a 62 RI strat, Twin Reverb and Blackstone OD) was in the Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Joe Bonomasso "gotta over play everything with a million notes" approach - at least that's what my eyes told him as their mix was so bass drum heavy that his guitar could only be heard during the solo intros. The kid joined Mule for the encores, and he sounded a little higher in the mix.

Jorgen was doing pretty good last night. I liked the tone of his Gibson THunderbird bass the best (w/Ampeg SVT & 8x10 cab). He solo'd in the first set with very bluesy style, losta string bending. I noticed him watching Warren a lot for changes. Overall a solid job. I give the guy a lot of credit, he had/has a TON of material to learn the way the set list constantly changes and the Pink Floyd set alone was from left field. He also had a good stage presence.
Thanks for this! Very psyched to check out the new Mule.

here's the info on converting FLAC
http://flac.sourceforge.net/
I already listened to Mule's show on the 30th. Jorgen has breathed some new life back into the band - Warren and Jorgen were playing off each other very nicely. Going to listen to the Halloween show tonight, probably.
FWIW, if you are a Mule virgin, PLEASE do yourself a favor and listen to the Allen Woody era as well - very scary playing with the trio format.
