What do you guys recommend?

I'm looking for something with at least a humbucker at the bridge (other PUPs optional), a locking tremolo system, a traditional shaped headstock and strat style body, at least 1 volume knob (other knobs and switches optional), fat hard rockin' tone, and a hardshell case.

Best quality for the $$$.

Call Steve Benford - www.benfordguitars.com (http://www.benfordguitars.com). Hands down, best bang for the buck for a new hot rodded strat.

Thanks for the info. If I were to go that route, I'd go with Scott Hembry - www.hembryguitars.com (http://www.hembryguitars.com) -- check out the Rat Rods.

I was curious to see if anyone was going to jump up and praise the new Charvels or the new Kramers or something like that. But all is quiet....

I have an '07 G&L Legacy HB that is killer. You can drop in locking Sperzels with no mods to the headstock, and still be under your target price.

Billy Corgan Strat? Doesn't have locking trem or hardcase though.
