not sure about the proper channels on this site, but i just got this info:

i just spoke with my aunt, and her home was broken into last saturday. stolen (among a laptop and digital camera) was her now-deceased husband's 1969 fender custom esquire. it's a 3-color sunburst with a humbucker pup in the neck position. this was my uncle's #1, and he purchased it new in '69. it's very sentimental possession for my aunt.

police report filed along with passing info to the alb pd "pawn shop unit".

You might want to also post the info on Harmony-Central - Music Biz Section - Stolen Instrument Sticky - that forum gets a ton of traffic (and helped recover a few guitars)

Also post on Craigslist - that's worked for me (and keep posting 'cause some a## keeps flagging and deleting stolen instrument posts)

And hit up musicians on Myspace in NM - that's also worked for me to get back other people's gear.
