holy mother of GOD.......
if you are a fan of BIG NASTY BLUES ROCK guitar, you HAVE to hear this guy.
he is touring with Melissa Etheridge now, but I can see him going on to a very promising solo career.

seriously........if you like Mike Landau, Hendrix, SRV, Ian Moore, and all those other cats who have the BIG FAT tone, play a strat, and ROCK.....you willl thank me later :BluesBros
just go to youtube and check him out....
Yep, started watching his stuff after hearing him on the clips for one of the fuzz pedals (MJM I think).
What's really funny is that guys were slagging him here as being some sort of knock off. He's amazing in my book. If I had chops like that I could rule the world. He will eventually.

yes, i can understand that some would think he is a "knock off".
but after spending a few weeks with PEACE MACHINE in heavy rotation, i think he is simply awesome.
i think he is still developing as a songwriter....and will only get better.
after hearing HUNDREDS of guys who try to sound like this......his album is the only one that has gotten me excited in years.

The guy is just silly good. Love his intensity and vibe. There's a clip of him with Melissa Ethridge on the Oprah show, and he just tears it up.
"Peace Machine" is next on my download list!

i have heard thousands of Hendrix influenced white guys with strats....and i am ONE of them :rotflmao
But this guy has something special.
even if you typically hate that style of music/guitar/vibe......give it a listen.
It's the only new record in that genre that has excited me in years....and I am a pretty critical listener, like most of the rest of you here on TGP:JAM

Yep. Watched him play some smoking guitar with Melissa Ethridge at that Al Gore Earth Awareness concert thing a year and a half ago. I thought her set was one of the best of the festival due to his playing.
Eric Gales is another guy in a similar vein to Philip Sayce - great chops playing heavy blues/ rock. Both have killer strat tone as well.

ERIC is a barn-burner.
short story.....
in the early 90s, I was kinda hot stuff in Florida as a guitarist.
Eric came to town and was playing the Performing Arts Center in Tampa, as I was asked to open the show for him. He was SIXTEEN.
We showed up......we had 3 SVT bass rigs, 3 Marshall stacks, a falicon drum riser and huge drum set......a pretty awesome stage rig.
THEY had a couple of amps and a little bitty drum kit.
Their manager threw a hissy fit, and didn't want us to open for them, because we clearly had a MUCH bigger stage presence than they did.
I went over to Eric to talk to him, and he said "naw, man, don't worry about HIM.....y'all go ahead and DO YOUR THING".
Which we did. the FOH engineer was Paul "Python" Byther from Tampa, a great guitarist himself, and a good friend. So he CRANKED us up. We were LOUD and PROUD.
but you know what?
Eric, his brother Eugene on bass/vox, and their drummer came out and SMOKED OUR A$$.......six ways from sunday. Tight, funky, and greasy. Three part vocal harmonies. And Eric was INCREDIBLE.......holy crap.
That kid ate my lunch, and it's all on video.
Those guys taught me a BIG lesson that night. And Eric was so cool.....so gracious.....and so UNAFRAID of anybody.
I can't wait until I see him again one day and ask him if he remember this night. I'm sure we will both laugh our butts off....
oops.....off topic.
Y'all go BUY a copy of PEACE MACHINE, and if you think it SUCKS, I'll give you your money back!

I got Peace Machine on iTunes several months ago. Philip Sayce is a baaaad man...His tone kicks some serious arse.
What's crazy is to compare his album to Youtube videos of him playing live. Then you realize how much he is actually holding back in the studio. crazy.

I need to find the CD-Amazon has it only through their marketplace for $40. I guess it is considered an import. Here is a cool highlights reel video of Phillip:
