I thought it was a pretty cool article.
I've only had time to get about half way through. Good read so far - I'll have to get to the rest tomorrow. Thanks for the link.

I read the first half at lunch - you're right, it's a GREAT interview. Randy Bachman has a very, very rich history in the Rock biz - I think it's a "must read".
Thanks, Dana O.

Randy's a blast. He has a weekly radio show on the CBC in Canada (available on Sirius)
Here's his website. Worth a listen - real insight on the mid 60's- 70's from someone who was there and survived. For guitarists he often refers to instruments and the sounds they were chasing.
thanks for the heads up Daddy0,
Rev Frank
PS - here's a link to his radio website: http://www.randysvinyltap.com/

I saw BTO open up for Van Halen back in ..... I think it was the late 80s...... crazy! :JAM
I used to love all their 70s hits! 'Ain't seen Nothin Yet' reminds me of driving in my first car. :)

He's a really personable, friendly down to earth musician despite his fame.

Yeah that was in 86. I saw them on that tour too. That was a weird matchup, but BTO did sound good.

I saw the same tour. It was for the first Van Hagar album. BTO rocked. just about broke my leg jumping 8 feet from the stadium seating to the concrete floor in a pitch black corner to avoid security guards.

He's a bright, considerate man and a talented musician.
It's also staggering the amount of money Randy has made from his chosen profession - remarkable, hard-working business man.

Great article! I loved BTO and have a bunch of Bachman stuff on LP.
Great to see this link posted today, I've got a bit of the flu here at
work and this really brightened the day!

I especially love how Randy has championed his friend, the late great forgotten genius, Lenny Breau.

Man that is funny!
I did the same thing at a Alice Cooper concert in Portland around 1973.
Me and my buddy were sitting where a TV camera would normally be for a basket ball game. It was a bare spot on the concrete above the floor.
We were burning a phatty and we saw a security dude zeroing in on us.
Right about then the lights went down and we hopped over a railing to the floor.
Problem was, it was about a 10 foot drop!
My glasses flew off my head and I was scrambling around trying to find them amongst peoples feet.......found them and limped off to the side.
Man my ankle hurt for about a month after that!

Randy is certainly Canadian rock royalty. The Guess Who, Brave Belt, Ironhorse, BTO.... the list goes on. A great songwriter, superb guitar player and genuine nice guy. He has it all, and has done it all.
