Longwave's new album came out yesterday. Of course, I couldn't find it in stores here, so I ordered it from Amazon yesterday.
Anyway, I streamed the whole thing on Reverb Nation and it's really, really good. A lot more like "The Strangest Things" (a masterpiece, IMO) than "There's a Fire" (which I still like.)
Any other Longwave fans here?

I've done some studio work w/their original drummer. Very creative guy, writes some good songs and has a cool outlook on production/arrangements.

I had The Strangest Things back in 2004. It was a big part of my summer. Lots of crap going on personally and I listened to that album a lot through those times. I don't have it anymore but I'm hearing the songs from it in my head right now and it's taking me back. I don't know if that's good or bad. But it was still a pretty decent album.

Longwave opened for my old band about 10 years ago and they seemed like completely fake suck ups (it would take too long to elaborate). I met them again this year at their show with Swervedriver and they were every bit as pleasant as they were 10 years ago, which makes me think they are, in fact, really good guys. -E

My old band opened for them when they were touring behind there's a fire. I absolutely love the Strangest Things but didn't really like the second one. I may have to check the new one.

EndSongs was my favorite album since middle school. I can't wait to see these guys in December!

Wow, I started talking about Longwave here about 6 years ago and nobody cared. I saw them in a little dive bar in Norfolk in 2002. Here's a Youtube from that show, shot by my friend Mitch:

Endsongs is still a great album.
I got their e-mail yesterday with a link to a jukebox of songs from their new album. I listened to a couple of tracks - sounds like their really processing Steve's voice (which doesn't really surprise me, honestly).
Steve's a talented guy. Really interesting the way he orchestrates guitar sounds with effects. You might think it's a synth, but it ends up all guitar.
