This is one of the few moviers that I am going to the theaters to see.

The last Bond movie was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going tomorrow. Reviews are generally saying that it's not as good as Casino Royale (not surprising, that one was astounding!), and then split between "it's still good, though" and "it sucks, bring back Roger Moore and snarky jokes and tuxedos!"

Personally, I'm really digging the new, vicious Bond. And I'm hoping that someday they'll choose to remake On Her Majesty's Secret Service with Daniel Craig and the current crew...

Well, I just got back from the theater.

This is a good movie. It is different from Casino Royale, which, I think is great! I would have been really dissapointed if they just redid the last movie.

That being said, this Bond is a bit more introspective and violent. He kills alot, really, lots of deaths in this one. Bond is kept jumping around trying to figure out who the bad guys are and why while he is being set up.

I won't say more about the plot-but it has almost as many twists as Casino.

I will be going to see this a second or third time while in the theaters and I will buy it the day it comes out on DVD.

Out of 10 I give it a 8.5. Casino Royale got a 9.5 in my book.

That is all.

Saw it at 12.01 this morning, was action packed and shot really well, was little short and little lite in the writing department. But was really good a 8.5 out of 10. Will say more after more people see it.

Maybe I'll check out a matinee next week (on vacation !!!)

I just saw it, and liked it - as I did Casino Royale. It tied up the loose ends in CR, and set the future direction nicely. FWIW, Craig is, I think, the best Bond yet. Closer to the psychology of Fleming's original, and with a modern grit I think he would have appreciated.

I saw it this evening, then came back home and watched Casino Royale again.

After seeing the two of them back-to-back, I still prefer Casino Royale... there's just a bit too much going on in this new one. Still, it's a VERY good movie, IMO, and Craig pulls out all the stops.

I didn't like the opening credit song or sequence, though. At all.

I am going to see it this weekend. If you read the Fleming books, Bond is far more violent and cold blooded than most of the movies protrayal's. I think I read some where that the the producers of the Daniel Craig movies wanted to capture more of Flemings spirit, and stray away from the campy, over the top antics of Moore and Brosnan. Can't wait to see it!!

Just came back from seeing it. Lots of good action scenes. I thought the plot was lacking and left a lot of things unanswered. Too much going on without any explanation or going further into what those things were.

I really liked the new one. Tons of over the top action and not much of the really corny stuff that I disliked about earlier James Bond movies. It's definitely closer to a "Bourne" movie than a Bond movie, but that was a good thing for me.

I didn't mind the majority of the song, but the two voices together was really grating for some reason.

Just saw it and really enjoyed it. Much closer to the Bond of the books. I think he's a Bond that fits these times much as Connery fit his.

Pretty disappointed in Quantum...

The plot was very weak, and several characters seemed like mere filler material. Not much development in that area. I know it's a Bond film, but some of the action scenes were a little too overly unrealistic (i.e. - the parachute part). This makes sense though, as the director of Quantum (Marc Foster) also directed last year's The Kite Runner, which was also prone to a few overly unrealistic action scenes. To me, QoS just felt like a poorly-done Bourne movie.

But with that said, Daniel Craig makes a great James Bond. I agree with the above poster who said he's the best one yet.

Overall, I still think it's probably worth seeing, but don't expect to be blown away.

I am optimistic about the next one though!

I went with high hopes but found the story weak and disjointed and the directing terrible (I really hope they get rid of this director). The action sequences moved so fast you couldn't tell what was going on...all a big blur and largely unbelievable. Other scenes had all kinds of weird artsy angle play and panning, left me with a headache to try and put it all together. Craig did a good job though with the role considering... I also thought the whole "we're everywhere but nobody knows us" and the "we never really know people" business a bit lame like there has to be a boogeyman everywhere.

And imo it has the worst Bond song I can ever remember hearing. The Chris Cornell tune from the last one was great.

Just saw it. While CR was better, I liked it more than I thought I was going to, given the mixed reviews. I took it that he slept with agent Fields. The hand to hand combat scenes did evoke the Bourne movies, as did some chase scenes.

Still the opera house scene was one of the best scenes in any Bond movie IMO. The scene with M at the Bolivian hotel was up there too. 7/10.

I saw it Friday night. I thought it was good. I came home after the movie and flipped on the tube to find "Die Another Day" playing, and man, the new one just smokes all the Brosnan Bond movies. Not even close. Those movies had some of the most unrealistic, aweful cinematography I've seen. Both the new one, and CR are much, much better.

Finally saw it yesterday and absolutely LOVED it. Every second of it was just amazing. Definately one of the best Bond films made in recent history. Craig just nails that role so well. I wasn't crazy about the Jack White/Alicia Keys tune, but it wasn't 'bad' by any means. Great movie. Will watch again. The Bond series might be my favourite movie series ever.

FInally got to see it. As a long time fan I enjoyed the movie. A thumbs up. It is a little shorter on plot and heavier on the action, and Casino roayle was a little better, but it was done real well. I could see where someone who is not a fan of the Bond series could be less than overwhelmed, but there was a lot of Bond history and storyline in Quantum. I thought the title song was the best one in years! Maybe since view to a kill or live and let die. That Chris Cornell song for CR sucked! Looking forward to the next one!

I liked it a LOT. Craig sure is a physical Bond. Made me want to get into shape.Totally spooky with those blue eyes. I was suprised Bond didn't get the main girl in the end. A departure from cliche. Only quibble - I don't like the close filming of the action scenes where objects fly in and out of the lense. This was particularly annoying in the last Bourne movie. And why was the hotel filled with hydrogen bottles? Just so it would blow up super easy?

They say something about how the hotel was powered and to make it easier to blow up..

I don't care to the close up action shots either. The chase during the bull fight was the worse.

I actual felt sick after seeing the second Bourne movie. Quick moving the camera so fast.

Just for reference I haven't seen CR, but I plan to now. The reason I didn't ever see CR is because of Brosnan. I expected another crappy Bond from Craig and I was a little hesitant to see QoS. My fears are completely relieved, Craig rocks. On to the movie, it is a bit short on plot. But it wasn't anything noticable and it didn't ruin the movie. It flowed very well, lots of great fight scenes interspersed with other scenes that were never too long or too boring. Compared to anything by Brosnan, Quantum was a masterpiece and I look forward to the third Craig film.

Why couldn't the new director used Chris Cornell's song in the beginning again? Makes no sense to me, this movie is a continuation anyway and the orchestral theme music used it during the movie.... The new bond girl though..... WOW The best looking bond girl yet! Stunning!

Does anyone see the humor in the title?

Quantum: a share or portion

Solace: comfort of consolation

So he's looking for a his share of consolation or in plain english a little piece. Ha ha ha. Here's the difference between James Bond and me--he's always been able to get a piece anytime. I on the other hand struggle with the ladies.

I watched Royale again this weekend and still think the two new chicks are better looking than Vespa.. Maybe it's because she had the pissed off look half the time? Just not my type.

I saw it last week. I was very disappointed.

I loved Casino Royale- LOVED IT! This one was similar in story and attitude, but the story was much weaker. I've seen Royale 3 times and I still didn;t follow what they were talking about in this one.

But worst of all, it was the action scenes that lost me. Like the others have said, while Royale had bad @ss, long drawn out shots, this new one decided to go for that Bourne quick edit, frantic sort of thing that bores the sh!t out of me. I'm not kidding, I feel asleep during one of the action sequences. Never feel asleep at the theater before. I'll never understand why people like that stuff. Bummer...
