So happy, I will soon have this dark cloud off of my record. Let's party! I've got room for another infraction. Don't push me.....I'll do it....I mean it......I'm a real rebel! I once wadded up a kids homework paper.......it might have been 40 years ago, but hey, I might not be fully rehabilitated yet!

What are you so happy about?! I thought my one little infraction, years ago, made me such a bad boy. I was grieving the day I was forced to give it back!

You don't have an infraction about to expire.

they stay on your record even after they expire, the whole concept is silly IMHO

But they don't 'accrue' for suspensions. IE: 3 in X amount of time nets auto suspension. If it's expired, it won't count for software suspensions.

Warnings accrue? Or infractions?

Is it painful to be infracted? If so, is it more uncomfortable for the infractee or the infractor?

Infractions accrue. They have points assigned to them. Amass enough points, and you'll receive a suspension.
The reason warnings/infractions never disappear from your 'permanent record' is so all the mods/admins are on the same page as to who did what. That way, there will be no problems remembering things in the past and no, "He has it out for me" accusations...
If you've received several warnings or if you have an expired infraction for the same type offense, you'll probably not get another warning in the future...

Depends on weather or not the infractee realized they earned it.

Kid's stuff.
Have you ever been flabbergasted? If so, you know how exquisitely painful that can be...

Rest assured that if you receive a warning or an infraction (and funny aside is that more folks pitch fits about warnings than infractions for some reason... I've never figured that one out) because you retaliated or 'defended yourself' as so many like to put it... the other party got the same treatment. If you have no warnings, you get one. If you do have warnings, you get an infraction. It's equal opportunity time when folks act the fool.
They stay on your account so the moderator team has some sort of context in case you step over the line at a later date. We used to strictly use 'moderator notes' in the member accounts; now the infraction system does it fairly and without bias.

I am shocked to read that you are not familiar with the warning/infraction system.
I already have my Bachelors Degree....Give it some time and I will have a PHD.:dunno

Jeeze I guess I'm in nursery school. Maybe the mods give a senior citizen discount, allowing for senility.

We should have a point system like speeding tickets. It should keep a running tally next to your name, so everyone knows just where everyone stands. That way you might think, "Humn, ole' 90's Wreck only needs 2 more points to be banned for awhile, I'll see if I can push him over the edge!"

Can we ban mods? I am now formally giving Big Mike an official Tennisplayer warning for messing with me. I was emotionally traumatized by his post. One more warning and he doesn't know what my keyboard is capable of.

I love it! Great idea! It sounds like a terrific sport......
(It would seem I have acquired the dubious distinction of being someone who can raise hackles). :phones
So, 90wreck, what pushes your "annoy" button?

Midnight Lady, just tell him something false about the Buckeyes. He's ready to blow any second. Seriously, I know him, he's like Manson and Son of Sam all mixed up together.
