Ahhh! back in the day, when I was a general contractor and my buddies were either GC's or subs, there was a core group of 7 of us that would take off 1 month and drive down to Baja Ca, and camp, surf and dive. We lived off of what we caught and staples in whatever town we happened to be in.
Sniff...

I operate my own company.
I have priorities.
I work my a$$ off and sacrifice to live the ski bum life.

I've worked in Lake Louise, Alberta several times and it was the best snowboarding I've ever experienced, especially the back bowls. Incredible scenery as well and a wild party scene. I miss the mountain life!

Man I need to get my ACL fixed. I used to ski once a week during the winter months.

Our local "mountain" is scheduled for a Thanksgiving day opening. Supposed to get cold next week so they might make it.
Just picked up my new boots-I need to get them ground and fitted before I can use 'em!

I am so jealous!!!!! I live in the midwest and the skiing / snowboarding is abmissmal. I try to take a couple of trips each year to get in some good skiing. Unfortunately, due to the current economic conditions and the fact that we have a 3.5 yr old and a 6 month old my trips are going to be fairly limited to a few day excursions to western NY. One of these days we are going to pack up and move to either Vermont or Colorado.

Technically, yeah. It's a little mid-mountain lodge called the Deer Valley Club. It's a pseudo-timeshare kind of deal where there are a bunch of owners who rotate weeks at the condo. Pretty sweet deal - great food, right on the hill, transportation to all the other ski areas. I've been going there for the last 17 years or so, so it's sort of my home away from home.
Can't beat that Utah powder - steep & deep.

I think Switzerland is my favorite place to ski. I went to Zermatt a few years ago and it was the best skiing I've ever done. I'm possibly going to Vermont between Christmas and New Years for some warming up and then I'm going to Mont Tremblant for the end of February. My family has a condo there so it should be lots of fun.
