Just a string? or,

A clever way to advertise high price items for sale off ebay.

Used 1973 Fender Telecaster String (http://cgi.ebay.com/Used-String-from-1973-Fender-Telecaster_W0QQitemZ220309320991)

What with the horrible paypal and ebay fee's and policies, It looks like guys are finding a clever workaround.
A little care in the listing and it is totally legit.

Questions to seller are pretty handy as well.

Pretty clever,i've been doing something similar posting a 30 day BIN/Best offer(.35$)and making it local pickup only.I than list it on Kijiji/Craigs and link them to the Flea-bay auction.

He has a total of 7 strings listed,

I wonder if I could pull that off on ebay motors and sell a lug nut off of the 01 PT Cruiser sitting in the driveway.
