Needless to say I'm more than a bit skeptical. They advertise free things in every department......is it going to be free picks, free string cleaner, and free 2009 catalogs?
Just wondering if anyone has any inside info, and if it'll be worth my time to go down there. :JAM

Free BS will be in abundance........right along side free misinformation.
Is this today? I'm headed out there in a bit...

So is it just today? I heard you buy 4 sets of strings, get four free. I'd hit that up tomorrow if it's still going on. Getting close to enough players points for a stool.

You have to make a purchase of some kind to get the "free" stuff.

Even free stuff won't get me into GC anymore... I'd rather pay for it & do business elsewhere.

They will give you a stool, they'll even push it in for you.
Go ahead and buy 4 sets of strings, you will pay full list retail for the strings, $9 per set times 4 equals $36. Then, they will give you 4 "free" sets. So, you paid $36 for 8 sets.
Go back to the store 3 days later, or whenever the "sale" is over. Walk up and offer $36 for 8 sets of the same strings you got at the sale,
and...they will sell them to you for the same price.....same BS, different day.
They have been suckering people into their stores with those "deals" for 40 years.

Sorry, that is incorrect. You buy for sets of D'addarios and get 4 free. At my store the price was $18.00 for the 4 sets and you get 4 free. Where did you get this retail price info?
Also, to answer the op in my store there was a few different deals. The better of them being by any guitar $299 and up and get an amp...Fender frontman or acoustic 10 watt amp or one of these from line 6.

There were other deals in the store that were going on as well, but we did the most of the guitar deals.
