Is this a good idea?

Or am I asking for trouble? A good friend is selling me his TV-7 hickok military tube tester that has been calibrated and refurbed by an expert in the field. I always see people asking for places toget their tubes tested. So as a way of giving back the kindness that others have given me over the years in the gear world, I was thinking of putting a post up offering to test the mutual conductans as well as both sides of the triode and supply all the numbers pertaining to the tube for anyone who wants it.

The only catch is they would have to pay shipping to me and return shipping. Pretty much anywhere in the US with my shipping discounts including the cost of the box and packing supplies I can probably turn around this for about 10 bucks.

What I get out of it is the ability to learn, offer some help, and in the future, possibly start a small business with tubes as I have access to an enormous amount for both hifi and guitar use.

So, would I be doing people a favor or would it be a waste of my time?

Sorry. I got a chuckle. Maybe the amp section would get you more response. It sounds like a noble gesture. But how many folks have tubes that they'd like tested that are worth shipping 2 ways? Some, I suppose. I recall someone here that bought a box full of old tubes at a garage sale.
