Hi All,
I've been working for quite some time developing what I think is a pretty darn portable guitar leslie speaker cab. I sold out of prototypes as fast as I could make them. So I've recently moved to somewhat of a production model.
Check out some samples on this posting:

If you're interested drop me an email... we'll talk - jbennett81@verizon.net
This is an extension cab featuring a new Weber California 12" 8 ohm Speaker. It's driven by a variable speed, expression type foot switch. Inside is a vintage leslie tremolo unit - hence my company name: Organ Donor Amps.
I'm currently taking orders for tolex and straight baltic birch - poly finished models. Prices start around $600 and up depending on speaker, finish, one or 2 motor and foot switch options.
Thanks for looking. Peace.

Very interesting. Question...you would need a dedicated amp for this, right? If you ran it off the extension speaker jack from your amp, wouldn't it always be in the mix? Thanks.

Nice sounds and good looking build. I particularly loved the Layered and Spacey soundclips. I may have to get one of these. WHat is the weight? Do you need an amp or is it built in?

Hi BMF Effects:
That's right. This is an extension cab driven by your head.
I run mine 2 ways:
1 - with a separate head and a a/b/y switch (electroharmonix switch blade) between the 2 amps or
2 - When using 1 amp, I run 1/4 lines from both the regular and extension speaker jacks to my pedal board and I use the same a/b/y switch to allow the output to go to either the leslie cab, the standard cab or both.
If you've got the space I HIGHly recommend micing these cabs in stereo - pretty freaking amazing results. Feel free to leave more messages here or PM me. As I mentioned I have one posted on ebay now, but I'm taking custom orders. My favorites are actually my all wood cabs - baltic w/ 4 coats of poly - and i use tapestry cloth for the grill - very tripodelic.

Can the motor be put onto a variable control (like a volume pedal) to be controlled that way?
And can different speakers be used? Cele Gold or Jensen Alnico Jet maybe?

Hi Decay o Caster:
You can choose any speaker you like.
I build these with a variety of foot switches and motor configurations.
Option one: Single speed motor with a variable speed - like a gas or expression pedal for control - this allows you to find all the in between speeds and maximize doppler shifts.
Option two: Same as above but with a straight on/off foot switch as well as the variable speed. The advantage here is that you don't have to keep your foot on the pedal. I'm developing an expression type pedal that you can set to the desired speed then release - but this is still in r+d
Option three: 2 speed motor. 2 foot switches - on/slow and fast. This allows for lots of variations. You leave the slow setting on - then click into fast - the click fast off and to achieve great doppler action.
Again, taking orders guys.

Nice work :) Very reminescant of the rare leslie 860- half the cost and smaller too! sure to be a hit, sounds great. Did you build a wood rotor? foam? if you dont mind me asking.

Hi Analog - Don't mind at at... actually as my ad states I actually use vintage leslie tremolo units in the guts. I refirb them and offer a free 30 day replacement on the motor and/or rotor - shipping not included. That said, because of all the interest I have been discussing the development of my own rotor with a well known manufacturer. Kind of a dream come true if I could make a living doing this... or at least a few bucks. LOL - so far I've sold 4, but all the money (and it hasn't been much) has gone right back into r+d and building. Let me know if you're interested in ordering. I can do lots of tolex-grill combinations or baltic birch with 4 coats of poly - these are actually my favorite. The Big News is I'm actually experimenting with cabs covered with a heavy duty tie dye cloth - hemp of course. They will be called the "WEED" series - mocking the tweed of course. No... I am not kidding. Peace.
I have been using real leslie cab...
Like SRV tone! We mic just upper horn (speakers..)
Can you make a bit faster than normal Leslie?

Leslies rock , my dad has 8 at his place heh.. Every household needs 8 leslies and a broken B3 :D
anyway-
Tomo was mentioning a faster speed-
another cool feature speed related would be expression pedal controled speed. Most leslies are fast/slow with a slow down period -Fast, or not moving..
Reverb too - is a nice thing, my leslie 910 has reverb, by far my favorite leslie , but its like moving 2 marshall full stacks, 150lbs!, most leslies don't have reverb, but its a cool sound for them.
Cool stuff non the less :D

Fellas,
Read the ad closely - my model IS driven by an AC rated expression pedal. I'm also developing an expression pedal with a separate on/off foot switch so you don't have to keep your foot on the "gas." My 2 motor models come with 2 switches:
Switch #1 = on/off slow
Switch #2 = fast
I've rigged it so #2 takes over when #1 is engaged - so you can switch between fast and slow with one click.
These things are a hell of a lot easier to move than a full leslie - dimensions are just:
20.5" wide X 21.5" tall X 20" deep. Here's a link to the one that's on ebay:

Taking orders boys.

Your fast speed is faster than #122, #145 ?
Do you have any pics inside of cab?
Where is upper horn speaker (one side is real/one side is dammy)
That's where you can get great guitar Leslie thing with guitar amp.
Thanks,
Tomo

Hi,
Not sure what the max speed of a 122 or 147 is.
My guess is mine's a little bit slower. But sure sounds good to my ear.
My cabs are specifically designed to be SMALL. For guitarists.. this has always been my mission. That said I do not use a horn. However, I've begun researching the possibility of incorporating a coaxial speaker - to achieve full range - mostly for those keyboard players. For now models include either a 110 or 112. I prefer to use Weber speakers - but we can work with what you like to use.
I am also considering the possibility of including 2 small high-end
mics. The plan is to incorporate 2 xlr outputs on the back of the cab
to mic in true stereo.
Insides: I'm still experimenting with options for installing the sound baffle and speaker. At present this assembly is installed on one board. Future designs will hopefully feature a rack type system. The entire assembly will slide in and out for easy access to the guts.
Long story short feel free to email me directly for more drill down info:

Very good sounding.
Hey PeachEater, I think you may need to put your business information in your sig to comply with TGP rules. Not sure though but check the FAQ.

<bump>
All,
I've just reposted one of my portable leslie cabs on ebay.
I'm trying to get units out in the field so folks will write good things
on harmony central, the gear page etc. That said - the cab is now listed
for just $350 - this barely covers my production costs.
I won't be repeating this offer - just can't financially.
So if you want a great deal PM me - use the code GP_350 and
I'll hook you up. FYI shipping is $90 due to weight and professional packing.
Hope this goes to a good home.
Especially hope the winner chooses to help spread the word through
positive postings.
