I dug the hell out of that...one of my very favorite contemporary artists, on so many levels...
Hey, isn't it time he had a new record out?

A big +1 on Buddy. :AOK He's a monster player and very unassuming guy. Hell of a vocalist too, both lead and harmony. Emmy Lou refers to him as her secret weapon. A huge influence for me.

More Buddy...

Big fan here. He's sort of the Johnny Marr of roots/country. A real writer's guitarist.
Plus he gets to hang with Emmylou.
Where's that "envy" smilie?

I dig Buddy, too. Been listening to the record he produced on Solomon Burke, "Nashville".

I had the privilege of seeing Buddy and Emmylou a while back when it was just the two of them. Awesome.
Emmylou gave Buddy the ultimate compliment that night:
"Ladies and gentlemen, Buddy Miller. All the backup band a girl could ever need."

Great clips-
what would happen if Buddy Miller and Daniel Lanois worked together?

I caught Emmylou some years ago here in Santa Cruz. Buddy and Julie were with her. What an incredible treat to have seen them all together.
First, Julie and Buddy opened. Then they were part of the band for Emmylou.
I was absolutely blown away by the level of talent and musicianship.
Buddy played 2 Wandres that night if memory serves. He then pulled out that then-brand-new LP Custom w/Bigsby. AHH!!!
He used an AC30 that was tilted up.
Those Wandres are such beautiful pieces..

I spend hours getting lost in this site....
On another note...
Anybody know how Juilie is doing these days? She has had health problems and I long to experience that beautiful, childlike presence that she brought to the stage, along with that beautiful voice.

This is THE album to get...
http://www.buddyandjulie.com/budandjul.html
Amazing array of guitar tones and textures and some of the best writing ever.
Here is a link to a KILLER swampy guitar tone from Buddy and a great song written by them. Emmylou did this song on one of her albums. I think it was "Wrecking Ball", another "must have. NO, It was "Red Dirt Girl". Yet, another "must have".
Swampy electric version..

[this youtube has a religious tilt visually. Please, if you find that offensive, hide the box and just listen to the song. Fantastic]
Here is an acoustic version..

Here's a non-u-tube link to at least one more Buddy Miller: http://www.mydamnchannel.com/channel.aspx?episode=449
This will take you to a Buddy Miller tune on the Don Was channel on MyDamnChannel.com There are a lot of other great tunes with video there - Don has produced a W-i-d-e variety of music all available on this site - I'm partial to the Sweet Pea Atkins stuff, him being a hometown guy and all. You'll find everything from soul to country to punk to other singer/songwriters (Steven Bruton) and rock and more there - check out the rest of the site.
Year, We need a reissue Wander Buddy Miller signature guitar and a instruction DVD :rotflmao
