Now he's clearly not up there with Warren & Derek but it was cool that they brought him out to play

I read a review of one of his cd's a couple years ago. I think the interviewer was a Red Sox fan. He compared Bernie's guitar playing to his baseball playing. To paraphrase: "Bernie is a good player but he dosen't like to get his uniform dirty". I think the underlying sentiment was that he plays it safe. I thought that was kind of funny. He sounds okay to me but i haven't actually listened to much, just snippets on tee vee.

Not my style of music but he can certainly play
I understand Paul O'Neil is a decent drummer too and that they had a sort of club house band.

I remember when Bernie's disc came out. It was in the smooth jazz vein. Of all the pro ball players turned musos, I haven't seen anyone beat Wayman Tisdale yet.

I have Bernie's first album & I agree that he tends to play it pretty safe. The band he got was awesome though. He had Bela Fleck, Mark Rivera on Sax & Kenny Aronoff on drums
