Just wanted to bring this up again. This is still the best cd I've gotten this year. Sounds like Queen meets power pop. Check out songs 2 (Jethro) and 4 (whisky and speed). You can hear the whole cd from his website.

I was just listening to this again today. Damn its good.

I couldn't agree more! Best CD I've gotten this year.

The vocal stuff going on at the end of "Thought About It First" makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up and solute!!!!

I just really dig that vocal on Jethro. Sounds like it came off Night at the Opera.

"He's a good man, he's a good man, he's a good man"

Yea-----the entire CD is very cool.

I'm already looking forward to buying his next one, which (as far as I know) isn 't even recorded yet. Great stuff.

Like it.. Almost sounds like if Billy Joel and Queen were writing and recording together in 1978 but Brian May hurt his hand and couldn't play guitar on it. Great backing vocal on these tunes.

Great stuff, the harmonies REALLY make this music! As a lifelong Queen fan, I give it a thumbs up. It's also really cool how he's taking old styles and finding a fresh approach to delivering them.

Ear Candy is one of my favorite cd's. So how pissed were they that they maybe released thier most marketable cd ever and thier label basically didnt promote it? I've talked to them a few times...great guys.

Well, I think they saw the writing on the wall. The label dropped them the day we left for the tour. Ouch.

JeffWow... I totally couldn't picture that, but on listening there's absolutely no better description I can come up with.

Not to hijack my own thread...but what was Ty using on tour back then? I think that was also the time of he and his wifes separating so that probably wasnt good times.

I'm pretty sure he was still using his signature Zion at the time. The tones sure sound like it.

On that tour he played his Zion Signature and a Zion Tele into a Marshall 30th Anniversary Head--->Load--->Midiverb II--->Ibanez Dual Delay--->Sweet Sound Ultravibe--->Wah--->Boogie Stereo 50/50 poweramp. Or at least that's how I remember it.

He and Wanda were still together back then.

LOTS of 1970s UK pop influence here, 10CC, Sniff & the Tears, Pilot, Sweet (a bit), Sailor...

In other words, this is great!

I bought this Josh Fix after you posted it the first time. So thanks very much for that and I want to heartily agree with everyone who says the CD is great. It's fantastic. Amazing music. The guy should be a huge star. If you haven't heard it, go and listen.

Yeah, I feel a bit guilty for bringing it up again...but as I was listening to it the othe day I just thought "Man...this is just SO DAMN GOOD....it needs more people to hear it.

It pains me that some crap thrown out by the latest band of the month will sell a ton becuase they have a great video or the label plugs them. And guys like Josh Fix, who are pure geniuses as what they do, go relatively unnoticed. My biggest issue is that is download only. I'd like a cd.

I remember that Zion on that tour. I know they packed the house in Minneapolis at the "mirage" that tour. Probably the best I've heard them sound.

As for Wanda, I was on a kingsx forum back in the day and she used to post all the time. I was just surprised to hear about the split.
