The people cry out for cut and paste and a zoom on the camera!

Love my iphone, though.

I love my 3G, greatest gadget i"ve had the pleasure of using.

It Needs VIDEO- BIG TIME...

and zoom witht he camera.. every phone, even some of the crappiest phones have video capability, this thing does it all except shoot video.

I guess an 8GB or 16GB video recorder would pose a threat to some royalty related company, meh

Still no MMS. Still no cut/paste (seriously - how hard could it be?). Still not listening to users.

My iPhone is the coolest gadget ever. It's also possibly the worst phone I've ever owned.

I saw a phone on a commercial yesterday.

You held it up to a speaker and it would tell you what song it was then take you to Itunes to buy it.

I thought, how the hell did they do that?

Yup - there's all sorts of free software to do it, which I find amusing because when I worked at Verizon Wireless they spent a boatload of money to do the same thing - oh and they charge for the app.

I want to be able to reply to emails. Why the hell is there no reply function? And I want damn cut and paste. Rant off, still a sweet phone.

There's a reply/forward icon at the bottom of every e-mail to the right of the trash can icon. Cut and paste would be a nice addition though.

Ouch, I thought that was just a forward button!!!!! I just checked and feel pretty damn stupid.

Voice command searches on Google now.
The latest version of this free app adds this feature. And it works.

It'd be nice to have voice dialing for the car. My two year old Razr had it.

Quibbles aside, my iphone 3g rocks.
For $300, it does everything better than my beloved $2,200 Macbook Pro...
except make money.

Yeah I love that tool.

After it identifies a song, it also gives you a link to Youtube to listen to the song again later, and another to buy the song as a download. Great app.

I also love taking a photo and having it transfer directly to Flickr or Facebook right away, not even using a computer. Just over the air. Awesome.

I think with the release of the storm (which has C&P, video, and MMS), Apple may finally get off their a**es on this one.

You'd think so but is the Storm going to be only for VZW customers? Im sticking with ATT service no matter what. Maine isnt friendly to cell providers.

Yeah, its not about direct competition on the same network necessarily, its just that its the first iPhone form factor type phone (touchscreen, virtual keyboard, etc) that actually gets close to it in terms of features and interface, so Apple isnt going to want to be trumped. One could argue that they were trumped right out of the gate by much cheaper phones that had those basic features (MMS, specifically), but those phones aren't perceived as direct competitors to the iPhone, while the Storm is.

We'll see. I think they should have had those features from day 1, so I dont care why they add them, as long as they do it.

I was checking out the Samsung Instinct on the ATT website..Looks really nice. Also, HTC has a couple of nice offerings. Looks like 3MP camera are finally coming to fruition..

I've looked at the Instinct, the Bold and the Storm and the interface of how it works and how fast on the iPhone just works better. There are phones with more built in features but they just don't work as well overall. With the apps store it is pretty amazing what the iPhone can do. That said, I still would like to have cut and paste.

Seems like any 3rd-party app that does this would just get blown out of the water by an 'official' release down the road, though (navizon, anyone?)

I'd just like to be able to get them. I dont care so much about sending them, but if I have to go to viewmymessage.com one more time, I'm gonna go postal.

i think if you jailbreak your iphone you can download apps that convert your camera to be capable of video. i'm just afraid to jailbreak mine, it's a company phone.

a very cool app i just got today is Star Walk. basically a solar system/constellation map. but you can wind it back in time to see different alignments, etc.

It was pretty "meh" for me. Better battery life was the best of it IMHO.

One thing I'd like to see either from Apple or an App. is support for Flashplayer. C'mon... how hard can that be to develop?
