How Long For A PayPal Refund?

I was refunded some money for something I returned to the buyer recently.

It's just been three days but PayPal still lists the refund as "pending."

How long does it usually take for the money to be put back into the account?

I've had 'refunds' to clear immediately or within a few days (ie, 3 - 5) and I've had a couple to take nearly two weeks! The ones that clear immediately are where someone keeps money in their paypal account and they issue a refund and the money simply comes right back like a payment. The ones that take longer are where some people move the money from their paypal account to a checking or other account and they have to transfer it back to paypal to do the refund. This could take a couple of weeks depending on the Bank they deal with.

This makes sense. I've given and received refunds before and it was as quick as sending payment. This time it's taking a while.

I bought something on eBay once and the seller said it broke while they were packing it. The money was refunded to me immediately.

The one I just received took around 2 weeks.
